Obituary for Walter Wild

Walter Wild, a resident of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 after a
long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Bubikon, Switzerland on
August 27, 1940. As a young man, he joined Ferag America, Inc., a Swiss company dealing with high level
sorting systems and material flow installations which provided him the opportunity to travel
internationally for many years. He helped to establish the North American branch of Ferag America at
the Keystone Business Park in Bristol, PA where he served as Executive Vice President. Walter was the
great communicator. He spoke five languages fluently.
Walter had a passion for travel, gardening and a good party. He looked forward to Oktoberfest and a
good beer with his many friends. He was a member of the Swiss Club and was a very serious Swiss card
player. Family meant everything to Walter. He took great pleasure in attending his sons’ sporting
events and was always willing and joyful to participate in excursions with his grandchildren. He and his
wife traveled extensively.
Walter is survived by his wife, Ida and his former wife Marcella. He is also survived by two sons, Jeffery
(Lauren) and Wally (Christy Almendral) and two stepdaughters, Rosemary Brody (Eric) and Elisa Peduto
(Edward Zawrotny), grandchildren, Amalie, Noah, Ella Isobel, Rene, Elisa, Jamie, Albert, John and Victoria. He
has five great-grandchildren, Brody, Luca, Jaxon, Jamie and Marco.Walter is also survived by siblings, Albert, Robert, Trudy and Marie Wild who live in Switzerland
Walter’s interment will be private. A Memorial Toast Dinner will be held at Spasso Italian Grille in Olde
City, Philadelphia, PA on Sunday, October 23, 2002. Spasso Italian Grille has held many special
memories for Walter as he enjoyed many events there with both family and friends. We will meet to
honor a life well lived with a special toast for Walter Wild.
