His Life Story

Robert Sam was born in Georgetown, Guyana. He migrated & settled in South Philadelphia in 1989, to make a better life for his daughter and wife. He then went on to follow his aspirations; of becoming an ASE Certified Mechanic. After graduating top of his class, it didn’t just end there. With his entrepreneur mentally on the rising, Robert wanted more for himself. Bigger than just working as a shop manager at Pep Boys. He wanted to own his own business. He Invested many long nights and early mornings with the highest level of dedication to succeed. He was proud to be the boss for R & A Auto for 25 years. Robert loved his profession. He was a brilliant craftsman at his skill. Mainly because it gives him joy to help others, train entry-level mechanics to watch them grow and solve some of the impossible questions.

His interest in West Indian foods, music, & dance kept his challenging days shine bright. With his green thumb he grew his favorite plants, that made his day. The more organic, the better is his way. Every Sunday he spends time in the kitchen preparing his favorite appetizing mouthwatering healthy Guyanese dishes. It was always a pleasure for Robert to share out foods to his family and coworkers. Only to ask them, “do you they think this dish come from a restaurant?”. Robert Kept up his spiritual diet well over 35 years, which showed how discipline he was. He would say, “what you eat dictates who you are.”

He would be surely missed, and his memories will live on forever in our hearts.
