About 15 years ago in my early 50s, I had to end a long streak of playing basketball with Pat at Penn, two or three days in a good week. Since then, I saw Pat around campus infrequently and only heard about his passing yesterday. Pat was a gentleman with a wonderful heart and infectious smile. He will be missed by many colleagues and friends at Penn. Pat was much better on the court than me but always had a complement when I made a play. He was very kind. Whenever I ran into him in recent years, even when he was driving a van, he always stopped to chat and ask about my family. I'll miss those occasions. My heart-felt condolences go out to his family. I am lucky to have known Pat both from his work at EHRS and his play at Hutch/Pottruck basketball. Pat was genuine. Loved his family. And always asked about my family. I have fond memories both on the courts and in the LRSM when he came to clean up a mess my students created in the laboratory. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Pat's passing. I worked with Pat and the Vet School and EHRS for many years. He always had a kind word and caring way about him, a gentle soul. May he rest in peace.

I had the honor of being a family friend for many years when our children used to play together. We were both involved in Little League together, as well as rec league basket. Pat loved the Sixers and the Phillies. I truly enjoyed being his friend and the entire neighborhood will miss him. He was a great father and a good man.
