Wonderful memories of John's frequent visits to Montreal as part of the three musketeers, Bill and Mitch. A very special and honourable friend.

There is so much sorrow in the world. But the death of our loved ones brings the deepest sorrow of all. Please accept my condolences. May God’s promise to help you through this difficult time bring you peace (Isaiah 41:10) and his promise for the future (John 5:28, 29) give you a wonderful hope.

John was extremely bright. He and I were in the Advanced Course in Engineering together in 1967. He quit our class and joined the 1968 class because they switched from working with Brooklyn Poly to U of P starting in 1968. So I trudged on with my PhD at Brooklyn Poly and gave up on my second attempt at a dissertation. John worked with U of P and got his PhD. For John, it was never in doubt!

John was the Information Technology lead for the GE Philadelphia business when
a) The Internet was invented
b) Personal computers were invented
c) Non-IBM card software was invented
d) Word Processing was invented.
e) E-mail was invented

John led the business from purely IBM mainframe processing from IBM cards to personal workstations with email and word processing and everything else.

He was a genius!

And he was a great friend who was always there to help.

He was truely one of a kind.

So sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a wonderful asset to all the companies he worked for over his long career, but more importantly a great a person to work with and to work for. His technical knowledge and calm and confident manner with our customers, was directly responsible for winning and keeping many of the job in the Space Comm group. He will truly be missed by all who knew him!
