John “Chris” Christopher Procopio
AGE: 35 Formerly of Toms River

John “Chris” Christopher Procopio, 35, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 after a brief illness. Chris is survived by his daughter, Ellie Madison, 1, father and brothers, Wm. C., William and Nicolas Procopio; grandmother, Vivian Brouwer, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. Chris has gone home to Jesus to rest with his mother, the late Joanne Brouwer Procopio and his grandfather , the late Allen K. Brouwer Jr.

Chris was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 14, 1980. He lived in Toms River NJ and most recently Lancaster, PA. Chris graduated from Toms River HS South in 1998 and served in the U.S. Coast Guard where he was stationed in Massachusetts.

Chris was a charismatic man who made friendships easily and touched the lives of everyone he met with his witty sense of humor and boy-like charm. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and his devotion to God. He will be greatly missed.

The family plans to have 2 memorials, one in South Philly and one in Toms River. The memorial in Toms River will be held at 11am Saturday, Sept. 19 at Mayo Park Pavilion on Bayside Avenue in Beachwood. Luncheon to follow.

Life Story for John Christopher Procopio

John Christopher Procopio lived in Berwyn, PA. South Phila., Toms River NJ, and Columbia PA touching hundresds of lives. Born in Phila on March 14, 1980. He passed on September 8, 2015 with Jesus, and now is living in all our hearts and minds. Survived by his Father William C. Procopio, Daughter Ellie, Grandmom Vivian Brouwer, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Brothers William and Nicholas. Cancer, MRSA and other bacteria caused his organs to shut down. His ashes will join his Grandfather Allen Brouwer and Mother Joanne V. Brouwer Procopio. Chris graduated from Toms River High School in 1998 and served his country in the Coast Guard. Chris made friendships easily, gave generously from his heart and was famous for his comforting bear hugs. The family plans to have 3 separate memorials for Chris in Lancaster, South Phila., and Toms River.
