Dear Catherine, I met your sister Toni today and she told me what a wonderful person Harry was and how much of God's joy he generously and lovingly brought to so many people whose lives were brightened by it. I cannot imagine your sense of loss right now. But what I can do, I promised Toni I would do. As soon as I went home, I made a Holy Hour in our convent chapel for you and asked Our Lady to cradle you in her loving care as you did for Harry. I know that she will take good care of you, your husband and Christina. A Sister with whom I live, Sister Mary, offered her rosary for you. She remembers reading about the great love that Harry had for people who needed his love. So, please know that you have some serious Prayer Power who hold you and your family close to our hearts. I feel that God put Toni on my path today for this purpose. May you find God's great love alive in your hearts! Fondly, Sister Linda

Sarah Keating told me that when I met her dear friend Harry, I'd feel like I'd known him my whole life. When we met at the Palm for lunch, I looked into his eyes and was instantly under his spell. Some people just have a je ne sai quai that defies explanation. It's a feeling like watching a magician do an outstanding trick or having a belly laugh while listening to a comedian. Harry had a way of putting an invisible blanket around people and creating a safe, happy place where there was no such thing as a faux pas - he awlays made a funny joke...he gave the best hugs...genuine hugs...hugs that felt like you were part of his Jewish family. He was Jewish, right? I called him Harry Giordanberg. He even know the obscure Jewish Holidays like Log Ba O'Mar. He knew more Yiddish than I did. WTF? His smile warmed everyone. His gentle eyes made it okay for you to let down your gaurd. His easy way made you want to tell inappropriate jokes and use a few curse words for effect. When he took the mic, you listened. When he asked you for money, you gave when he looked at the cute bartender with those eyes you tried to fix them up. He had a power. he had swagger. He had an authentic shtick that was so loveable. Women loved him. Men loved him. Children loved him. He had the perfect job advocating for children and their families. He did G-d's work here on earth. He told my 4th strage Ovarian Cancer friend that everything was going to be okay - he was going to help - he had a hotline to nurses that would listen 24/7 and help. Someone would always be at the other end of the line for her. She passed and he sent me a photo of her and a few others when we did the Walk for Hope accorss the Ben Franklin Bridge. That snapshot made me cry, but also smile. Today is a very sad day but the sun is out and it's strong and it's warming the cold grown after a long, harsh winter where everyone hid from the plague and I know those beaming rays are Harry's spirit, warming us all - letting us all know that "everything is gonna be allright." That warmth on our backs today was sent by angles...angels who look like Mummers, angels who let us all know that while Harry is no longer on earth, he is spreading his greatness in heaven where he is undoubtedly the director of development for the improvement and maintenance of those holly gates. Every single time I eat a piece of cake I will think of you my groovy friend. I may even start calling folks "Darlin'" to carry on your southern charm...you were a Jew from the south right? :) I loved you hard and you knew that. I can't believe James stole carpool Karokie from us. No one sang Total Eclipse of the HEart better than you and me on the open road. Rest in peace and if you are not able, throw a party...everyone will come. Everyone loved you.

xoxo

Yikes...Also, thanks for loving my son , Brody. He took to you immediately. Thanks for making him and us part of your Variety family. We were so grateful for that, especially around the holidays...Brody loved the dance party (AND THAT RABBI IN THE RED SUIT!). You were the best.

So there is probably a million different things I can say there is probably so many stories I could share about you. The most important thing that I want your family to know about you is that you truly made this world a better place. The world was much more happier, brighter, and just overall better with you here amongst us. So now our world will be just a little bit darker, a little bit sadder and not so good anymore. I hope your parents know that they raised their son in such a manner that he left a profound impact on everyone he met and this entire world. Harry you truly devoted yourself to others. That genuine spirit was truly a gift. If I had just one piece of that gift I would be a better person. Thanks for carving a path and setting a great example for all of us to strive for. Rest In Peace my friend! My condolences to the Entire Giordano family!
